Fun in the Sun at Coral Sands Beach

New island friends took us to Coral Sands Beach, which you can reach by riding your bicycle or renting an electric golf cart to the other end of the island. Pristine beaches with finer sand than the family beach area...

Mason swinging from the tree rope.

View across the lagoon from Coral Sands Beach...our house is over there somewhere!

Mason not quite hitting the water...ouch! Need to wait for high tide next visit!

Can't get any better than this!

New friends Sophia and Maegan playing in the surf.
Later we went to Glass Beach, which is on the ocean side of the atoll (vs. lagoon side), where you can collect a wide array of colored polished glass, as well as other interesting objects. Shoes necessary, as there is also sharp, corroded metal and other garbage that doesn't belong in the ocean. Not sure what the significance of the concrete structures are.

Boys can always find a stick!

Maegan was thrilled to find a large piece of royal blue colored glass!

Glass isn't the only mark human's have left on this beach: to the far right dark masses (hard to make out) are actually huge hunks of metal.

This gecko hung out over Gus' head while we slept at night. We suspected he was in trouble as he rarely moved position.

Unfortunately, after several days he disappeared; we discovered him on the floor just below his hang out...no longer with us. We've caught and released several babies to the great outdoors, only an inch or so long since that time.
