Countdown To Travel Day (Part 5)

Forgot to mention that we spent Wednesday, 22 June, with our neighbors the Duong's (Mel, Vu, Zarryn, and Rylan) in their pool.  Had a great time with them enjoying the wonderful weather and frying marshmallows.  Unfortunately, forgot the camera so cannot share the experience.  They were great neighbors and their cooking was the best.  We will miss them dearly.

We also spent time with Mason's best buddy Jackson Bailie and his family Sky, Tiffany and Caleb, who graciously allowed us to invade their space by hosting us at their home for a week and a half! It was so nice to have a "home away from home" before our departure. It certainly made the transition for the kids smoother, and it was nice having good company and all the comforts of home (washing machine, kitchen, comfortable bed). We are so grateful for their hospitality and friendship!

On our last day in Kennewick, we spent the afternoon with the Hanson family taking one last swim before leaving.  Kids had a great time as always and Gus and Carrie always enjoy the time spent with Doug and Tara.  We will miss them very much.

We spent the late afternoon with the Millers and the Cryans having one last get together until the next one which may be a year a way.  As always, we reminisced about the fun we have had over the years and the potential future plans with the kids as they get older.  Will miss our loving friends.

Countdown To Travel Day (Part 4)

One 25 June, Mike and Gus drove to Rooster Rock Part (East of Portland) to participate in one last paddling event together with the Tri-Cities Outrigger Canoe Club for awhile.  The weather was excellent, the racing was challenging and each TCOCC crew placed well in their division (2nd, 3rd, and 4rth).  The club had a great attitude and everyone enjoyed the day.  Will definitely miss the club and the races.  Hope to come back each summer to get in on some of the action (if they will accept me).
Mike is discussing the gameplan for the race...deciding whether to use our secret weapon...

Countdown To Travel Day (Part 3)

On the 21st of June, Maegan was able to get one last horse ride before we left the tricities.

On the 23rd of June, we were able to have dinner with Mike and Debbie Dowsett at Cedars Restaurant.  Mike was instrumental in giving us the opportunity to live on Kwajalein.  Mike and Debbie spent two tours on Kwaj for a total of 13 years and were able to see their oldest daughter graduate from there.  We spent a great time hearing about life on Kwaj which in turn got us excited for our trip.
Thanks Mike and Debbie for a fun time.

Countdown to Travel Day (Part 2)

We were out of the house and homeless by the 16th of June and then all the "goodbyes" or should we state "See you soons" began immediately after.

The celebrations began with a family going away party at Bill and Renee's house on 18 June.  It was great to see everyone together and as always, the food and goodies were delicious.  Here are a couple of photos from the get together.
